Peter's Southern Colorado Terrain Snowboard
As the name suggests, the K2 excavator is specialized for digging deep trenches in graded burns and plowing through post-storm powder.
With its wide outline and dual-radius sidecut, the Excavator takes a unisex approach. Its wide profile allows it to be shortened by approximately 2 inches without sacrificing performance. Additionally, the extra width and 20mm taper reduce toe trapping for riders with larger feet, improving performance in deep turns and long traverses.
The smooth-flexing S1 core combined with ICG™ 10 biax glass from tail to tip gives the Excavator a responsive, quiet ride underfoot. Add in pre-cambered Carbon Power Forks™ for more energy entering and exiting turns, and the ability to impromptu "Slow Sign" ollies. The Excavator is packed with technology to keep you playful and buoyant when powder is in the forecast.
For the graphics package, we turned to photographer, painter, illustrator, collage artist, father, mountain biker, friend, snowboarder, and longtime K2 collaborator Peter Sutherland. Peter was given free rein to design, leaning into his mixed-media work. Crafted with paper cut-outs, photos, paints, and markers, the excavator, reflective of Peter's style, was scanned and printed onto a matte top sheet, allowing for customization with stickers.
