Special guest riders Gabe Ferguson and Curtis Ciszek will be joining us for a special week of snowboarding and photography in Hokkaido.
The tour starts in Sapporo, allowing time to explore the city, and includes an in-store event at TACTICS' new store and an after-party hosted by K2.
After that, we moved to Asahikawa City in central Hokkaido. You might be wondering why we chose to stay in a city, but the answer lies in its easy access, topography, and snow quality. Asahikawa is the area in Japan where snowfall is most reliably experienced, with the most snowy days and the lowest temperatures.
Within a 30-minute to an hour's drive, you'll find everything from unique retro resorts to lift-accessible backcountry areas.
With endless jumps, pillows, banks, wind-formed snow waves and more photo opportunities, you won't find anywhere else in the world, plus fewer crowds and better snow quality.
Another benefit of staying in the city is that at night, there are plenty of ramen shops, izakayas, and bars nearby, offering a more affordable alternative to the high prices of resorts.
