Lurpiv Trucks was founded by Swedish transition wizard Oskar Rosenberg in 2021. The first release of Lurpiv was met with mixed reviews due to issues with the Kingpin, but we were excited to see the second edition hit our shops and make it a long-lasting favorite this time.
With Oscar's R&D efforts this time around, we had to test it ourselves. So, we had Tactics Eugene team rider Kalb try out the new Lurpiv trucks and post a review video on YouTube. Here's what he had to say about his test ride:
Sharp turns and responsiveness
The standout feature of the Lurpiv truck is its incredible turning ability.
Kalb describes it as "the sharpest turn track I've ever used," making it ideal for quick decisions and carving.
However, Kalb noted that the quick responsiveness can sometimes be unpredictable, especially when transitioning between steady grinds and sharp turns.
Durability and Performance Despite initial concerns about responsiveness, Kalb found the Lurpiv trucks to be extremely durable. They held up well to impacts and grinds, and the bushing geometry showed no degradation during testing. The baseplate also glides smoothly during nose and tail slides.
Anti-wheel bite system
The Lurpiv truck geometry has a built-in anti-wheel bite system that prevents the wheels from contacting the deck during sharp turns, and while not perfect, Kalb felt this was a significant improvement over standard trucks.
Break-in Period <br>The trucks felt very stiff out of the box but loosened up considerably after a few sessions. This break-in period may require a little adjustment, but that's like any other truck.
